Greg Childs

Greg graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1993 and has been an educator for 17 years. He has been an elementary science specialist, elementary classroom teacher, gifted and talented services provider. Currently, he is an elementary science coach for Saint Paul Public Schools focusing on elementary science curriculum and professional development. He has been active in science at the state and national level as member of the University of Minnesota’s P-20 Committee, and the National Science Teachers Association’s Preschool and Elementary Committee. In 2004, Greg received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science from President Bush and the 2005 Teacher of the Year from the Minnesota Science Teachers Association. He holds degrees from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Minnesota.

Molly Leifeld

Molly’s interest in science began as a kid growing up in Alaska. She has spent many summers guiding backpacking and canoeing trips, learning first hand about the natural world. She taught 8th grade Earth Science for 6 years in Bloomington, MN before accepting a position with the Science Museum of Minnesota (SMM). At SMM, Molly worked in the professional development department for five years. Her work there included providing workshops for K-16 science, technology, engineering and math educators with a focus on standards, cultural competence, equity, and subject integration. Molly joined St. Paul Public Schools in 2009 as a part of the Strategic Science and Engineering Initiative funded by 3M. Her position in SPPS focuses on elementary engineering. In her free time, Molly loves to run, ski, and hang out with her two little boys.
